Problem 2

Something of this kind happens quite often. What is the miai value of the move at a?

Black gote

Black 7 - White 3 = 4, remaining miai value 1.

White gote

Black 4 - White 5+1 = -2, remaining miai value 1/3.

The value of the move is 3.

Bill: The nobi is at least as good for White.

White gote

HolIgor: Thank you. Level Indicator.

So, it is: Black 4 White 7 = -3, over.

The value of the move is (4 +3)/2 = 3.5.

When this is verified one can put the position in the miai values list to make its place clearer.
