There are plenty of tournaments in Hamburg. The big three are the [ext] Affensprung, which goes for 3 days and is a yearly stop on European Pandanet Go Tour, as well as the [ext] Harburger Mausefalle and the Rahlstedter Tengen, which go for a full weekend each. There is a monthly lightning handicap tournament, usually on the first monday of each month, with prizes for the best performances over a whole year (and also promotions for those who won at least 75% of their games - Lutz Franke made it to 10 dan !!). Of course there is a Hamburg championship (see below), and there is also a "Fall Tournament" held over several Mondays...

You can find out more about these groups, the 3 big yearly tournaments in Hamburg and any special events at the [ext] Hamburg Chapter of the [ext] German Go Association.
