EuroGoTV

    Keywords: Books & Publications

Site/concept created by Harry Weerheijm in Spring 2007. Its first breakthrough was the European Go Congress of Villach (A), where he broadcast a lot of games and lectures by professionals - as Guo Juan and Yoon Young-sun - and shot many interviews as well. Since Vilach, [ext] EuroGoTV was present at a large percentage of the major international tournaments in Europe.

One of their activities was to provide Go tournaments with the opportunity to have their main games broadcast live via streamed video + transcripted (usually on kgs, accounts Eurogotv1, 2, 3 and 4). The Tournament organizers paid for the trip and lodging, and a small fee per match. However, organizers also can upload live games and streamed video themselves.

The website has a large amount of videos related to Go, as well as a collection of SGF files containing game records from broadcasts. In Autumn 2009, photo galleries by Judith van Dam were added.

The project ended in 2015.

**update**: It is now live again! EuroGoTV started anew (with same team, Harry and Judith) somewhere in 2016? I let someone who knows details to fill in, but EuroGoTV is now up and running again.

Robert Pauli: Let me warn you. If you register, they mail you a password, of course. But if you now change it, they do just the same, they ship your precious self-made password across the world again, spoiling your efforts: a complete nonsense. Sorry Harry, but it had to be said.
