Black to play

After White captures ...

... it is tempting to throw in again but this would be a mistake.

Solution 1

Black should start at B5. If White defends here then Black captures the whole lot. After B7 all seven white stones are dead.

If white plays at 'a' after B7 then black can play elsewhere! Then, after white 'b' and black 'c', white 'd' does not work because of a shortage of liberties.

Solution 2 - W8 at black+circle

If White connects to the outside, there's shortage of liberties and Black can capture two more stones at B9.

The name was coined by Matthew MacFadyen.

The tsumego used in this example is #26 from the XuanxuanQijing.
