German Go player, playing since January 2004, favourite server: KGS.

I thought it was fun to try and write a little introduction for beginners, maybe aimed at 30k-15k, it's at CBlues Elementary Course

If you (same as me) dislike seeing squares instead of nice Asian Fonts when using KGS CGoban2 client, I recommend this easy way to see Japanese, Chinese, Korean and cyrillic (ie russian) fonts at the same time in KGS: KGS Issue - Asian Fonts

In case you can't play on KGS because you're behind a firewall which blocks the port, I put up some instructions how to create an KGS Issue - SSH Tunnel. Maybe it helps.
