I'd like to suggest changing this page to read yose tesuji instead of just yose, beacuse(as far as I know) yose just means endgame, yose tesuji are the moves talked about in this article. Although the word yose is often used to refer to yose tesuji.

Of course I may be mistaken, but this is always what I was told. If I am mistaken could someone explain how?

I just found that there is already a page for yose tesuji.

The page is correct. What you were told was not entirely accurate. Yes, the term yose can mean the endgame, but the basic go meaning has to do with approaching the opponent's territory from your own. The Japanese for approach ko, for instance, is yose ko. (Unfortunately, regular dictionaries, written for non-players, may only include the endgame meaning.)

As for tesuji, many yose are not tesuji.
