Nice though these are, it is probably a bit bandwidth heavy for storing on SL though? Or am I wrong... :) I'd prefer a link meself.
These pictures aren't stored on SL (except for the first - it's the front page image).
However, linking to pictures that are not on your own site is a bad idea - it uses other people's bandwidth and the images are usually copyright by the original owner.
I will share one image of mine, however:
I took this when on my 2-day layover in Tokyo (I was returning from business).
Malweth, that is a photograph? If so, that's the smoothest one I've ever seen. I was convinced that was computer-generated.
yup... it's the real Yuugen :) such a cool place - they asked me if I wanted to sit, but I couldn't do it - I'd love to sit there for a game someday, but that's very wishful thinking (since I'd not only have to be very good but also join the Japanese Pro organization).
=o They let mere mortals in there? Was this a tour of the Nihon Ki-in; how did this visit occur?
You can ask to see it in the Go museum - the museum director spoke pretty good English, so I asked - we went up to the shop and asked if any games were going on (there was a match the day before or day after, I think).
Playing there was fun too... it costs a bit less for foreigners (1100 I think it was). The Kiin ranks are quite overinflated because they sell certificates - I wiped the floor with a 2d and they kept asking if I was an "internet" 3k ;) Oddly enough, the 1k I played was a tougher match (though I still won).
I also saw someone that looks a bit like Cho Chikun (because of the mustache), though it probably wasn't actually him since it was Sunday (not a game day). He and the person with him (who also looked a bit familiar) were in suits, though.
And I bought a ton of go books... in English! Also a Go Seigen and Takao Shinji fan (asked for Takemiya, but I must have pronounced it wrong) :) Now I have very little left I can buy from Kiseido!
