... streamlining the main page a little? Currently, the conclusion is buried quite in the middle, followed by ideas which actually preceded that conclusion.
To achieve a straight, easy to grasp presentation, ideas that overshoot the mark or have been abandoned for other reasons could e. g. be archived in a subpage. There is a thin line between thoroughness and distraction.
I completely agree. The page needs to be cut up into subpages at least. I printed it out and realized that it is 20 pages long on paper (medium fonts)! Probably each major section should go on a separate subpage with just a summary and conclusions on the main page. At present, however, I am waiting to see if wms will give an indication of interest or not based on what is there. I would prefer to wait a few days before trying to manage a wholesale reedit.
I am not sure whether wms will really read through it all. Anyway, if there is any chance he reconsiders adding some time system(s), it seems important that he doesn't have to worry about further requests for even more (and more ...) variants.
In my view, the section on online vs. over-the-board needlessly raises another, secondary problem, more than it contributes to the main solution.
You should ask wms to look at your page. He will either look at it and say whether or not he finds it persuasive or he will say he is not even interested in looking at the page which is another way of answering "no" to fischer time.
Based on his last stated reasons for not implementing Fischer Timing I expect him stay the course and continue to not implement Fischer Timing. Even if he turns you down I applaud your effort in collecting and massaging real world data to illustrate the advantages of Fischer Timing.
I added requests on KGS Issue - Fischer Discussion and KGSWishlist/Rejected yesterday. Let's see what response comes back. Last time he was still facing the big rewrite for version 3. He may have more time now and hopefully he finds something of interest in the material.
As far as I know, wms throws a glance at the wishlist from time to time, but your yesterday's edits might get lost. I suppose that inviting him by email would be safer.
Good thought, I just emailed him as well.
