yoyoma: About constants for KGS3 (2006-11-28 01:50) [#2452]

yoyoma - sorry for the confusion here, but I misinterpreted the first email I got from glue. I hope I got these right now.

There is quite a bit of discussion about the merits of the current rating system versus others, let's please keep this page as only facts about the current system.

Apparently there were only two changes to the algorithm between the last KGS 2.x and KGS 3.0:

• minimum probability of winning (was 0.005 or 0.5%) was removed.

• Some sort of bug was fixed. I don't know the nature of it.
