Thanks for this wonderful feature!

But how do we know how good the moves in the database is? It would be very helpful to know for instance the rank of the players that made the moves, or to have some general guaranty that the moves are made by higher dan players.

I wouldn't want to see my own 10k opening moves suggested to people as joseki for instance :-)

This isn't a game database with which you can study joseki from professional games etc. (You can study a little joseki by [[joseki]] pages, though.) but a search tool for SL pages linking e.g. to my 10k questions in BigQuestionMark

Aha, that explains a lot. I'll stick to other databases then, but you see I so much liked this interface... So nice and intuitive!

Well, you can look on the linked page whose play it is / was. But if you're interested only in joseki-study via database and search interface there are several software packages offering exactly this. (mastergo, smartgo, the gogod-kombilo combination, bigo)

Credits go to Arno for designing and implementing the find position page. =)

Well, it depends on how you look at it. For one, similar interfaces already exist in other databases. Personally I find the one at gobase just as easy to use. On the other hand, the find position feature on SL is still handy for finding specific positions, including josekis. You just have to examine the returned results, but often the page name gives a good hint on the quality of the information. For us, we found this feature useful for finding near duplicate problems in the classical life-and-death problems for cross-referencing purposes, or simply to locate existing problems and positions.
