I've gone ahead and merged Patting the raccoon's belly (mistranslation) with Tanuki No Hara Tsuzumi and did a WME. I removed the original example and the associated discussion which was distracting from the purpose of the page - illustrating the tesuji. I also trimmed some redundant content and stale links, of course.
I also took the liberty of providing a picture of my own tanuki; the mythical/statue form seems more appropriate.
If anyone feels the old example and discussion should be restored, feel free.
Wow, excellent work, looks very good! I like the picture of the statue, it provides just that little extra to bring the page to life. I'm nominating this for article of the week :)
Excellent work indeed. I love the tanuki picture. :) New proverb: "If you can put a tanuki in the territory, you've won."
