May I suggest keeping this page short? Every time FrontPage is called, this page is loaded as well. In interest of performance I suggest to prune this page somewhat (see also HowTemplatesWork and example template.) Especially, move all those upcoming articles onto another page.

On a side note: why not have upcoming, archiv and nominations be subpages of ArticleOfTheWeek?
