Xinao Cup

The Xinao Cup was a Chinese-organised international tournament, sponsored by Chinese energy company ENN Group. Also known as Shinyao or ENN cup, 新奥杯 in Chinese. Main tournament of 64 players with 14 seeds and 50 selected from preliminaries (45 open groups, 2 for females, 2 for seniors, 1 for world aka non-Asia). Time limits 2 hours 30 minutes each with 5 times 1 minute byo yomi. Semi-final best of 3, final best of 5 with the winner receiving 2,200,000 RMB (approx $340k).

The non-Asian world was represented by Jiang Zhujiu, who lost in the first round to Xia Chenkun.
