Valery Shikshin

   

Valery Dimitrievich Shikshin (Валерий Дмитриевич Шикшин, born 22 July 1948, died 18 Feb 2020) Famous Russian Go trainer.

He taught his children Svetlana Shikshina 3p and Ilja Shikshin 2p. He also taught Alexandre Dinerchtein 3p, Andrei Kulkov 6 dan and many other Russian players.

He also wrote the "Theory and Practice" series which comprises:

1. The Theory and Practice of Tsumego

2. The Theory and Practice of Semeai

3. The Theory and Practice of Shapes

4. The Theory and Practice of Analysis

In 2013 all 4 books were translated from Russian into English by his daughter Svetlana Shikshina and her husband Shaun Cepla.
