Tokyo University Go Class

A go class at Tokyo University started in October 2005.
The main teacher is Ishikura Noboru (who is a graduate of the university) assisted by Umezawa Yukari and Kurotaki Masanori.

The class was the idea of Kato Masao. It is aimed at beginners. Umezawa is teaching the introductory course using 9x9 boards. Ishikura is teaching the transition to 19x19 boards.
The textbooks are NHK books by Ishikura. Also, a small beginner's book (東大教養囲碁講座―ゼロからわかりやすく ISBN:978-4334034108) based on the course was published in 2006.
