The Way of Go
The Way of Go is the first Go book published by major US book publisher: Free Press, a division of Simon & Schuster. Written by Troy Anderson, former insei and senior executive from Red Herring and The Industry Standard, the book looks at Go as a way of understanding strategy, no matter the field under investigation.
While Go players will certainly get it, the book targets a non-Go-playing audience. The book is currently for sale online at the author's website.
An article on the book comes from Stanford's alumni magazine. Unfortunately, the article has a number of factual errors (Japan being the "center" of the Go world, "361 squares"). Overall, the article is a good summary, including the author's description of the book, ...is “a taxonomy of strategy. The way you’re introduced to Go’s proverbs and principles is like the way you see stars when you’re a young kid . . . you don’t realize they’re organized in constellations. This book is an attempt to put constellations around all these strategies that seem disconnected."
Gobase published a note as well: Troy Anderson, former insei in Japan has written a book (Way of Go) and established a website - to explore Go as metaphor and discuss his taxonomy of strategy, for Go, or any field. Read more in the press release
There are Go lesson videos posted on Way Of Go. Not the highest quality video, but the lessons are good, albeit short.
