Patchi  パチ is a Japanese onomatopeia for placing a stone.

bugcat: I see that the 2003 page had the form pachi in the article body but patchi as the title, and that in 2020 Dieter changed the body to match the title.

However, it seems to me that pachi is the correct spelling. The patchi form would indicate a sokuon, if I understand correctly: パッチ rather than パチ.

Note that the Go bot, which is probably named after the onomatopeia, has the T-less form Pachi.
