Noguchi Motoki

Noguchi Motoki (野口 基樹) is a Japanese amateur 7d living in Strasbourg, France. See his [ext] Tournament history (in French). He plays on KGS as 'motoki'. Noguchi is the French vice champion 2005, the French 2008 champion, the French 2010 champion, and a very active teacher.

He is also the author of two books on Go, written in French, a language he speaks fluently having lived in France for many years.

  • "Jeu de Go: le language des pierres" (third edition, 2010) is published by PRAXEO, a very successful primer on Go.
  • "Tsumego: l'art du combat au jeu de go" (2009, PRAXEO) is a huge, 544 page tome on Go fighting, concentrating on life and death and Ko.

He is also involved in a project to translate a series of books, written in Japanese, about Cho Chikun, into French.
