Noguchi Motoki
Noguchi Motoki (野口 基樹) is a Japanese amateur 7d living in Grenoble, France. See his Tournament history (in French). He plays on KGS as 'motoki'. Noguchi is the French Open champion in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2021 and 2023.
He is also the author of four books on Go, written in French, a language he speaks fluently having lived in France since 2000.
- "Jeu de Go: le language des pierres" (third edition, 2010) is published by PRAXEO, a very successful primer on Go.
- "Tsumego: l'art du combat au jeu de go" (2009, PRAXEO) is a huge, 544 page tome on Go fighting, concentrating on life and death and Ko.
- "Yose, fins de partie au jeu de go" (2014, Praxeo) : he is the co-author with Dai Junfu 8d.
- "L'usage de la force" (2023, Praxeo)
He is also involved in a project to translate a series of books, written in Japanese, about Cho Chikun, into French.
