Luis Cajiao Campos is a 2-dan amateur player and the founder of Costa Rica's Go Association.

He learned Go while he was studying Japanese and a friend give him a copy of Hikaru No Go. Then, curious about the game, he learned and taught some friends.

He started to play in KGS and that's when somebody suggested him to create a formal group. Looking for stronger players he went to ask in the Japan Embassy and, "by accident", the Embassy asked him to make workshops in the Japan's Week... then the Go spread and most of the players in Costa Rica come from that.

As a curious thing: in every formal tournament (Internet or International) he has ever played, Fernando Aguilar (who was his teacher for a while) has been there and he has always played against him.
