Lu Fan
Keywords: Culture & History
Lu Fan (died 228 CE) was an ancient Chinese politician and general under warlord Sun Ce, and later, his younger brother Sun Quan. His career spanned both the Eastern Han and the Three Kingdoms period. According to tradition, he was recruited by the elder Sun after a game of weiqi, recorded in the Wu Diagrams. The authenticity of this fact is doubted, however, though the Wu Diagrams are perhaps the oldest recorded play-by-play game recorded.
