Operation

1. Switching the timer on

Switch the timer on and off with the ON and OFF button on the bottom of the timer. The ON/OFF button is placed on the bottom to avoid unintended resetting of the clock.

2. Choosing an option number

When you switch on the timer, the option number is flashing in the center on the display screen. Use (+) and (-) to select one of the 29 options. After number 29, the display returns to 1. To find the option you want, refer to the Pre-programmed Options in this user manual or on the bottom of the timer.

3. Activating the option number

When the option number you select appears on the display, activate it by pressing the (✓/𝅗𝅥) button. The display then shows the default starting time for that option. (to edit settings see Manual settings before or during a game below)

4. Starting a game

When you have selected an option with pre-programmed setting, check that the lever is upward for the white player (chess). The player color is indicated with the crown symbol (for chess). You can then press the (▶❚❚/🕔) button to start the timer. The correct setting of player color is important to keep good record of the move number.

5. Temporarily stopping the timer

During the game, you can temporarily stop the timer by shortly pressing the (▶❚❚/🕔) button. If you want to change the time, refer to Manual settings before or during a game.

6. Audible Signal

Sound can be turned on or off by pressing the (✓/𝅗𝅥) button during a game. When the sound is on, the audio symbol appears on the display screen and disappears when the sound is off.

7. Quick Start Guide

  1. Switch on the timer on the bottom; adjust the flashing digit to select a preprogrammed option with (+) and (-)
  2. Press (✓/𝅗𝅥) to confirm the settings.
  3. Press (▶❚❚/🕔) to start the game.

Manual settings before or during a game

1. Under any pre-programmed options, press and hold (▶❚❚/🕔) for 3 seconds to enter into parameter set, the most left digit is blinking. To change the blinking digit, press the (+) or (-) button. When the valued is set, press (▶❚❚/🕔) button to step to the next digit. After all the left parameters are set, press (✓/𝅗𝅥). Parameters on the right side will show the same as left side. To confirm the settings, press and hold (✓/𝅗𝅥) for 3 seconds.

2. During a game, you may change the time that is currently displayed: press (▶❚❚/🕔) to pause, then press and hold (▶❚❚/🕔) for 3 seconds to enter into parameter set, when changes are made, press (▶❚❚/🕔) to restart the timer to resume the countdown based on the corrected times.

Pre-programmed Options (Partial list)

Rapid and Blitz: options 1 and 2

1. 5 minutes, when one player uses up time, the other player can continue the moves until time over.
2. 25 minutes, when one player uses up time, the other player can continue the moves until time over.

Bonus (Fisher): options 3-8

3. 3 minutes main time, add 2 seconds after each move.
4. 25 minutes main time, add 10 seconds after each move.
5. 90 minutes main time, add 30 seconds after each move.
6. 30 minutes main time, add 10 seconds before each move.
7. 5 minutes main time, add 3 seconds after each move.
8. 3 minutes main time, add 1 or 2 seconds after each move. If the player used 1 second for a move, add 1 second for the next move; if the player used more than or equal to 2 seconds to move, add 2 seconds for the next move.

Delay (Bronstein): options 9-11

9. 5 minutes main time, add 3 seconds at the start of the match. If the player used less than 3 seconds for a move, add the used time for the next move; if the player used more than or equal to 3 seconds for a move, add 3 seconds for the next move.
10. 25 minutes main time, add 10 seconds at the start of the match. If the player used less than 10 seconds for a move, add the used time for the next move; if the player used more than or equal to 10 seconds a move, add 10 seconds for the next move.
11. 115 minutes main time, add 5 seconds at the start of the match. If the player used less than 5 seconds for a move, add the used time for the next move; if the player used more than or equal to 5 seconds for a move, add 5 seconds for the next move.

Byo-yomi: options 26-29

26. 1 hour main time + one 20 second byo-yomi period
27. 2 hour main time + one 30 second byo-yomi period
28. 30 seconds/move + 60 seconds for 10 times: 30 seconds for each move, when 30 seconds finished, enter 60 seconds byo-yomi (10 times), player loses when byo-yomi finish.
29. 1 hour main time + 5 minutes Canadian byo-yomi: After the main time is finished, a period of 5 minutes is added. When the agreed number of moves is made, the players clock can be reloaded with the byo-yomi time by pressing the (-) button for 2 seconds.
