Koyama Shizuo

(小山鎮男, 1939– ) Retired Nihon Ki-in pro, 8 dan in 2005. Awarded the Okura Prize in 2017. Father of Koyama Ryugo and grandfather of Koyama Kuya. He has also been successful on quiz shows.

Promotion history

Became a professional shodan in 1965, 2 dan in 1966, 3 dan in 1967, 4 dan in 1968, h dan in 1971, 6 dan in 1977, and 7 dan in 2004. Retired with automatic promotion to 8 dan in 2005.
