I did get to about 18k at one point, but my current passion is writing a Go Bot which plays on KGS. I called it Dumbbot as it's totally awful at the moment. It has been quite popular in the past as a punch-bag and was part of a group of Bots (mostly detuned GNUGo clones) like simplebot and daftbot which cater for the beginner/low stress market ;-)

Originally written in C++ as an exercise in OO design, Dumbbot is now in far less structured C that at least allows me to cross reference pointers and stuff ;-)

Dumbbot is now dead and has lost it's KGS account due to me not running it for a year :-) I have some 'big ideas' for a new Bot, but not much time to get down to programming them.
