W5 is the jumping turn, giving White flexible shape, preventing Black from jumping to 5, and threatening the attachment at a. The weakness of this shape is the double peep at the marked point. In Korean it seems to be called a carpenter's turn.

The term jumping turn is limited to two one-point jumps at a 90-degree angle. W5 here would be considered a press rather than a jumping turn.
