Bob Myers: Why is Ishii's first name given as Shiro here? It should be Kunio.

BobMcGuigan: It can't be Ishii Kunio. He is not a Kansai Ki-in pro, rather a Kansai Johonbu Nihon Ki-in pro. Also, Ishii Kunio is 9-Dan and was born in Showa 16 (1941). The web page referred to is that of Ishii Kunio, though, so something is wrong someplace.

MarkD: Oops you are right, the link belongs to Ishii Kunio.

BobMcGuigan: According to the Japanese yearbook from 1986 there was a player in the Kansai Ki-in ranked 6-Dan(then) named Ishii Shiro, born in 1946. Current Japanese yearbooks do not include all Kansai Ki-in players of mid-level rank and he is not listed. It is important not to confuse him with Ishii Kunio or Ishii Shinzou (9-Dan).
