Hourglass Timing / Discussion

Sub-page of HourglassTiming

Bill: Hmmm. It might be an interesting alternative to sudden death.

Robert Pauli: It's interesting. Anybody who knows if both players start with the same time?

Anonymous: This timesystem is available on many chess clocks. Yes, both players start with the same time on their clock, e.g. one minute. One feature is that, no matter how little time is on your clock, you can never lose on time as long as you move faster than your opponent.

So both sides have to scramble in a time scramble -- seems fair.

Robert Pauli: Thanks, Anonymous.
