Go Seigen, also known by his Chinese name Wu Qingyuan, is considered by many as the greatest Go player of the 20th century.

This book is a brilliant selection of 200 tsumego problems created by Go Seigen over many years. The problems contain amazing tesuji which can be used in actual games. There are three levels of difficulty, and each problem includes a hint, so that even intermediate players can tackle them.

Below are some sample problems from the book of each difficulty level to help you determine whether the difficulty level is appropriate for you. At ~4 kyu EGF, I found the easy problems just on the edge of too difficult (but definitely surprising and enjoyable).

Problem 17 (Easy) – “The Same Every Day: Let's do it neatly! Problems like these should be your daily breakfast.”  

Problem 92 (Easy) – “Nine in Disgrace: White's nine stones seem easy to capture, but it takes a sharp move to make them quietly vanish into Nirvana.”  

Problem 12 (Medium) – “Somehow at least Two Eyes: It looks quite impossible for Black to live here, but can you somehow find just one more eye?”  

Problem 88 (Hard) – “Six Immortals in the Rain: White falls to a surprise sneak attack.”
