A dojo (道場 doujou) is a training centre, drill or teaching hall, or exercise center; it is also used for any place where teaching in some skill occurs. The characters mean literally a place where the "way" is followed. Outside Japan the Japanese word is often used for the physical location of martial arts practice. In Go it has taken on the meaning of a Go School, the structure of a teacher with their pupils.
