I do not fully understand the Spight II end of game rule and would like to ask you about a simple example:
This double ko seki was just created by B playing the marked stone.
Both players start and keep on trying to "play it out":
(w1): A1 (b2): D4 (w3): pass (b4): A2 (w5): D3 (b6): pass (w7): A1 (b8): D4 (w9): pass (b10): A2 (w11): D3 (b12): pass ... ...
I suppose, Spight Rules II will terminate this cycling at some point, but where exactly?
= pass
After Black is not allowed to play at a, nor can he take back at
.
So after passes, Black should pass with
. Doing so lifts Black's ban on returning to position 2 and bans White from doing so if White does not now pass. Neither player can afford to disturb that position, and the game will end with consecutive passes. White could also end the game at position 1 by passing with
.
