Bill: I object to the use of the term "beast" to describe something as simple as DOWN STAR. The fact that how to play it depends upon the rest of the board is not unusual. Many, if not most local go positions have that property.

As for difficulty of analysis, if DOWN STAR is a beast, so are most tsumego.
