BobMyers: Perhaps a stronger player could provide some discussion of why furikawaris tend to occur. A ko is one case of course, when one player just doesn't have enough threats, but is it possible to delineate or categorize the other cases where furikawari tend to occur? Do furikawaris just "happen" or can they be a strategic weapon? Do furikawaris always involve a mistake by one side, or can there be mutually beneficial ones? What are some of the more famous furikawaris in go history?.

Vlad?: There are some nice examples of furikawari at [ext] http://gobase.org/studying/gallery/?id=furikawari
