Bob McGuigan: The possible inability to complete a round-robin when earlier rounds were paired randomly happened once at a go teaching workshop I was in where the pro teaching it just instructed everyone at each round to play someone you haven't played before. People chose opponents randomly in early rounds with no difficulty but at the final round a pairing of only people who had not played before was impossible.
