Undocumented diagram markup? [#2629]

Where did these three symbols come from, and are there more? As far as I can see, they are not mentioned on HowDiagramsWork, but they are easy to turn up on SandBox.

Were they made for some occult lunar purpose? I have a variant in mind involving half go stones, so will hope for more.

The characters are *, V, and A.
