I started to delete old homepages when they are emptied by anonymous people. Most likely it is a removal request by the author, who is unlikely to answer if you revivify the page and ask for confirmation. We had this experience often enough. Not sure whether this is the right way, though.
Maybe an expiration date (as requested elsewhere for pages meant as temporary) five years after the last edit would be a nice feature for homepages.
I think old and empty home pages should be deleted. I'm not so sure about an expiration date. Many of us have home pages for others to reference to learn about us but we do not use them to post new material. In that case we'd have to make a phony edit once in a while which seems unnecessary.
Well the problem is, we are not really sure who empties the homepage (it is about old pages, recently emptied). Most likely it is the author him-/herself who moved on and uses another KGS handle now, e.g., but there is no way to ascertain this with anonymous edits. (Earlier practice was to set back the homepage and ask for a repeated request when logged in. However, that this may work is probably wishful thinking.)
