I own a 4 cm/ 1 3/4 inch goban which is beginning to need a clean. Does anyone have suggestions on the best procedure to clean a goban, particularly products or processes to avoid? I am especially concerned not to affect the line markings.
Bob McGuigan: It depends on how the board was finished and how the lines were applied. If it has a wax finish a damp cloth and gentle rubbing should do the trick. If the lines are underneath a polyurethane type finish you could use small amount of mild detergent.
