you should figure a way around this...because i keep forgetting to hit the minor edit button...by default everything should be minor edit so it doesn't automatically run to the recent changes list by accident...
same with adding a new page by accident when you're linking the page because you did a typo
Can you not re-edit the page and check the minor edit checkbox?
Perhaps have a look at UserPreferences
Preferences | Editing | Default for MinorEdit
Thus you can choose to have it work the way you like.
The usage of the exclaimation mark in the References section of TextFormatingRules may interest you, as it allows you to suppress the creation of new pages from links in your text by preceding the word with a '!', e.g. NotLinkedAsWikiName, http://not.linked.to/.
Uberdude Why is this a major problem? Why do you think it is a bug? What is wrong with logging things on recent changes? In fact I would argue if you are making typos and creating new pages by mistake it is a GOOD thing to get logged in recent changes so people are aware of them and can fix them.
