Save and resume games against engines... [#1864]
188.8.131.52: Save and resume games against engines...
(2009-06-19 20:52) [#6141]
It seems that it currently isn't possible in Drago v. 3.18.01 to start a game against an engine, save it as an .sfg file, and then open the file and resume that game against the engine at a later time. When I open the .sfg file, it's as if the engine is no longer playing. I searched the Help and FAQ, but didn't find anything regarding this topic.
Is it that:
1. This is a limitation of the engine (GnuGo, in my case), and that it isn't 'smart' enough to pick up where it left off previously,
2. A limitation of Drago,
3. Or that I am simply doing something incorrectly?
Thanks for a great program and for your support,
: Try start from current position

The following works for any sgf : load the file, navigate to the end, select "Start from current position" in the engine game dialog, and start the game. --Gilles

Thank you very much. The steps you described work perfectly. My apologies if these steps are documented and I did not find them before posting my question.
