Proverbs are a huge part of how I play and how I teach Go.
I have many favorites, but the one I want was one I bumped into in my first month of playing, and is paraphrased to mean "When ahead, live cautiously. When behind, die gloriously." --something like that.
I don't know if this is a new proverb, but it was told to me as originally not in English.
Does anyone know this proverb's original form in Chinese or Japanese?
I'm capable of translating it, but that's not what I'm looking for. I want the original, if such exists.
