152.31.130.158: Relevance to SL (2008-01-25 14:05) [#4219]

Sorry but how is this related to Go? Too much off topic in my humble opinion

Shaydwyrm: This is just another game considered extremely difficult for computers. I don't think there's any problem with having a brief description here.

MarkD: Well I second that anonymous post above. There are so many "other games", we can't discuss any of them here. Too much off topic imho too

Of course we _can_ discuss it here, you need not participate - just ignore it.
BTW, my short article is more on topic than your statement and also for example your personal page (which is about you and not the game of go, actually). --ab

MarkD Well ab, thanks for the personal bashing. I guess senseis invites comments of all sort, so live with that or delete them. But my personal opinion still is to avoid cluttering up senseis with all sort of off topic stuff, there are numerous computer game discussions on the net. As always: imho

RBerenguel: imho too, this is off-topic, but if we get too many of them, Arno will do something about it, just leave as it is.

Kris: I suggest the link from the OtherGamesConsideredUnprogrammable page be changed from linking to this page to linking to the arimaa.com website instead, Then I think there is no need for this page to exist.

okvonnegut: I don't understand. What's the problem with keeping this page in SL even if it isn't go-related? It's not like it'll clutter anything. It's a couple of hundred extra bytes in the database, that's all. If people want to use their time typing up other off-topic game pages (chess?) that those purely interested in go will probably never stumble upon / read anyway, why rain on their parade? If we're going to start some kind of "cleansing" of SL to remove ALL random & obscure pages and paragraphs that does not directly relate to go, then good luck to whoever will attempt that. :) Speaking as an avid [ext] wiki-inclusionist, of course ;)
