Please save this page for the wiki links to it, i. e., Down. There are several in SL, and they refer to this infinitesimal.
If a librarian or admin renames the page, then all the links will still work, if I understand correctly. Is that an acceptable solution? (Similarly for Up.)
Err, when we have a page called down and another page called down infinitesimal, can we rename down infinitesimal to down? I don't think so. The existing wiki links refer to the original down page, which I restored.
I think the solution, if one is needed, is new pages called down direction and up direction.
It looks to me like down infinitesimal is an exact copy of version 15 of down. Now down has changed, but down infinitesimal hasn't, so we have two almost but not quite identical pages.
Certainly I think the current down infinitesimal should be deleted. Then the question will be whether the current down should be renamed to down infinitesimal and a new down page created for disambiguation. Possibly it isn't necessary at this stage, but the option exists if we need it later.
Are these pages supposed to refer to the same thing? If yes, how about aliasing one to the other?
I think the point is that some anonymous person didn't want down to refer to infinitesimals, but instead to up and down, so they wanted the current content of down moved to a different name. If that's not going to happen, then an alias doesn't seem necessary.
