Yong-Su Yoo

Yong-Su Yoo (7d), also written as Jongsoo Yoo, is a strong Korean amateur player.

Yoo is a former Korean Amateur Champion, and lived in the Köln area in Germany in the eighties, where his teaching helped boost the level of play in Europe.

He won the Amsterdam International Tournament in every year between 1985 and 1989, as well as several other top European events in the same period.

When Ronald Schlemper (7d) was European Champion in 1985, he played a 9 game match against Yoo, which Yoo won 7-2.

Mr. Yoo moved back to Korea in 1990. He currently teaches at the Kirina Baduk Academy? in Pyeonchong, just south of Seoul.
