A slightly different version is in Go Seigen's book. Although White is to play first, White cannot live because the solution is identical to the above one.

About the title, from Go Seigen's book:
When Cui Zhu(崔杼) had killed Zhuang Gong(莊公), Shen Kuai(申噲) ran to Cui Zhu. However, Cui Zhu refused to open the gate for fear of revenge. Then, Shen Kuai said "Do you suspect me?" and cut off his own left arm. With relief, Cui Zhu opened the gate. Shen Kuai entered and fought with his remaining right arm.
