Wichard von Alvensleben

Wichard von Alvensleben (July, 1937 - May, 2016) made his living as a lawyer in Hannover.

Wichard won the European Go Championship four times, 1961-64. He won the German Go Championship five times, 1961-64 and again 1974.

In 1963 he represented Germany in the World Amateur Go Championship, which was a team event at this time. The German team finished fourth.

Mr. W. v. Alvensleben, the European Champion and a very handsome looking fellow, has trouble keeping all the girls away. But I think he does not try hard enough...
