UnclMartin

UnclMartin was an admin at the KGS Go Server.

The name is taken from an American television sitcom from the 1960s. A newspaper reporter, Tim O'Hara, witnesses a Martian crash land in California. Instead of turning him in, Tim passes the Martian off as his Uncle Martin.

KGS admins tend to frequently get the same questions. Some of us have a "copy and paste" page that helps us respond more quickly. (No wonder we sometimes look like robots.) I thought I would start building a copy here on Sensei's Library.

✾ I suggest you start by playing free games with others of various strength to get an idea of where you fit in the KGS Rating System ✾

✾ If a player is mismarking stones in a ranked game, you may contact an admin in private. ✾

✾ In the case where there is a legitimate dispute in a ranked game, the handling depends on the rule set. If the rule set is Japanese, the players should agree on a neutral stronger player to decide. If the game uses another rule set, the disputed position may be played out. Use the "Undo" button to resume the game. ✾
