The clamp - not so good  

Tapir: I tried in the game, since Black answered at a it worked out well... but after , doesn't look that good.

11,12,13 at a, b, c.  

Herman Hiddema: This has some potential, although I think the best white may get is seki, and perhaps not even that.

Tapir: To my kyu eyes there is only one big eye. And I don't know what Black can do against white filling it up with dead shapes. , , seems to be seki. at seems to live unconditionally, for white has to play inside now.

Black to move...  

Dave: This looks like a better approach to me. With or without the exchange of for , Black plays and I do not see how White can make seki. Black has too many outside liberties.
