Small - A Game of Go

   

American composer [ext] Haskell Small wrote a piece of music called A Game of Go, 1987, for two pianos, 10 minutes length. It was premiered at the 3rd US Go Congress, summer 1987 and was featured on NPR's "All Things Considered", Mar. 6, 1988.

The piece was inspired by game six of a 30 game match between Shusaku and Ota Yuzo in 1853.

It has been recorded by Quattro Mani on the CD ''A Game of Go''.

It was [ext] performed on April 17, 2002, in Colorado, and [ext] performed in June 2002 by Quattro Mani at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall.
