Shimada Takuji

Shimada Takuji (島田拓爾, 1908-1992) was a Japanese mathematician who wrote a book on Go rules, "Igo no Suuri" (囲碁の数理, The Mathematics of Go) in 1943 (revised in 1958).

He was a member of the Nihon Kiin's 1962 Rules Reform Committee. Their first proposal was published December 1963 in Kido magazine, but rejected by the General Meeting of the Nihon Kiin. Later revisions also did not take effect.
