Gronk: I'm not a fan of proverbs for situations that are readable. I like proverbs for the vague aspects of the game where one needs intuition and cannot read it out (e.g., "Play away from thickness"). For capture races, I find it always best to read it out and to ignore the proverbs pertaining to them (which can be misleading).
