Richard Guy

Richard Kenneth Guy (30 September 1916 – 9 March 2020), was a British mathematician.

He is, with Elwyn Berlekamp and John Conway one of the authors of Winning Ways (for your Mathematical Plays), a seminal book on Combinatorial Game Theory and its applications to a plethora of specific games which, however, says little about Go.

He also collaborated with Conway on The Book of Numbers, a survey of many number systems (including surreal numbers) and their properties.
